"The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship (communion, koinonia) of the Holy Spirit be with us all evermore. Amen." A most familiar benediction and prayer from 2Corinthians 13:14. This wonderful overview of the Blessed Trinity and their work of salvation on our behalf gives us assurance and boldness to continue the "good fight of faith" as we seek to further the kingdom of God in our church and world. The Shack - Baptism of The Holy Spirit - Music I recentley finished the "The Shack" by William p. Young, a fictional novel. I highly recommend this autobiographical metaphor of Young's pain and redemption as a missionary kid growing up in New Guinea his first six years. He takes the reader inside Mack's (the main character) heart and head, and subsequently the reader's heart and mind. It is not systematic theology, but it does reveal God's goodness, sovereignty, and love. He originally wrote this book for his six children never imagining the impact it would have across the world. I love this book because it brought me into repentance, prayer, adoration and tranquility. My guess is for most folks who read the book, they will hand out multiple copies, because of their desire for people to experience the work of the Holy Spirit. After you read it give me your take on it. |

In nineteen ninety one I came across the Holy Communion liturgy of Hippolytus (215A.D.). That began my study of the ancient liturgies and the historic Catholic Church. Having been involved with Pentecostal/Charismatic churches for most of my spiritual life, I found myself hungering for a theology of worship and a biblical understanding of the sacraments.
